Is the world going to end before Christmas
There are certain thoughts which run through my mind on a
daily basis. Thoughts about ways to be very wealthy and successful of
course! But ain’t these the same
thoughts that cross the minds of loads of young men like myself?
Most times than not, we hear stories on radio and TV about
wars, conflicts…deaths and then start wondering what the use of chasing wealth
might be. Could it all be a futile attempt in the end? Then there’s the question of the “End”
itself. When exactly is that going to
be? Is there a timeline that I (or we) don’t
know about?
In recent times, we’ve all heard and pondered on stories of
tragedies and disasters affecting countries, states, and families. Lives are
lost on a daily almost like that of ants being trampled under-foot. And even
the concept of death don’t seem to mean much when it’s being talked about now;
what with the use of phrases like “…bodies of the victims have been deposited…” which almost sounds like saying “the debris
from the next compound have been deposited in the bin”.
As hard as I may try not to relate these recent occurrences
to the lines or tales from the book of Revelations in the Holy Bible, there’s a
startling coincidence of events and hence the talk of “the End Times”.
Just this morning I heard “miss10ebaby” on Rhythm 93.7 fm phc talk about
another end-time prediction for 21/12/12 based on some random philosophy or
revelation by someone who probably wants a bit of fame and fortune from
desperate followers.
I'd really love to enjoy this Christmas first though. But then these predictions do not help matters when one’s trying to
keep calm and focus on keeping at the daily pursuit of wealth (a.k.a “hustling”)
to make ends meet.
These stories, philosophies, tragedies, are bound to make
you think and probably cause you to do some appraisal on your personal life
(which could be a good thing after all).
If your thoughts and self evaluation happen to inspire you
to be charitable enough to give up your millions for a good cause. Don’t look
too far or think too hard. I’m here to help you solve that problem (jokes…or
not).
Then again, these are my random thoughts…what’re yours?
