Good communication is about ‘cooking it’ right

Good communication is one of the single most important life sources for any relationship to grow. It is both vital to the overall success of any business or interpersonal relationship, and solidifies a connection between two people.

You will often see its relevance in your daily run ins with artisans. Which is why you find that people value the few, trust-worthy ones. The ones who actually say a thing and do it. You would not want to lose the contact details of that one.

Same applies in our romantic relationships. It is often common to find most couples experiencing some sort of tension in their relationships, especially when one would rather listen to reply, than to understand.

“Communication – the human connection – is the key to personal and career success”

-      Paul J. Meyer (considered the pioneer of the self – improvement industry)

We get so worked up about really simple things that don’t require us to expend that much energy (from a rational perspective). But because you are so concerned, you might be judged for a wrong, you very quickly jump to the defensive, to make yourself feel good.

The role of good communicating in improving relationships cannot be overemphasized, and hinges strongly on how honest and rational the parties involved are willing to be.
It requires a deliberate commitment to LISTEN.

Learning how not to 'sweep things under the carpet', for fear of being reprimanded, goes a long way to improve interpersonal relationships.

Think of it this way; When you really want a meal you are preparing to turn out right, you will want to invest time, attention, and care in making sure
  1. you get the right ingredients to use,
  2. that these ingredients are thrown in, and at the right time. And finally,
  3. that it cooks well, and does not burn.

If you treat communication this way, and intentionally too, it will grow.
